Lifting a tree (Mrs Spragg didn't notice till we were half way there)

Hi bloggers, Today loads of things happended.

 The Tree:
So a tree fell down and 2 people tried to lift it. They couldn't. Then loads of kids including me helped and got the tree to where we put them. When we were super close the teacher saw and videoed us. It took a lot of teamwork but we got it in the end. Here is the vid Mrs Spragg took:

Book Character Day 2019!

Hi bloggers, Today the 29th of November is... Book Character Day 2019! If you don't know what that is then I'll tell you. Book Character Day 2019 is when you dress up as a book character. Wild Eyes Missions!

 Hi!, Today I am going to tell you about wild eyes. First we sighed up on the website, then we looked at what are first mission could be. I ended up choosing Insane Plane. What I had to do is make a paper plane then fly it and challenge eachother who can fly their plane the thearthest. I flew mine 9 meteres. My secound mission was Junk Artist, I did it with Renae, Mykiala and Olivia P.  We made robots out of the boxes. Then we uploaded them to Wild Eyes. Now if I click on Missions and go to Junk Artist I can see mine and others completed missions. Now the current mission I am doing is with Olivia P and it is Nest Architect. I hope you like this blog. YALDHURST MODEL SCHOOL GOES TO TOWN AGAIN! 2019

Hey Bloggers, Today our school went to town on 4 bus's. My bus was red and white. I sat next to my best friend Olivia, (Link to her blog here). First we went to the town hall and listened to their wonderful music. I sat at the very top seats. Then we walked to Margret Mahy Playground. We sat on the grass and ate our lunch. Some seagulls thought this was a food shop. After we finished our lunch we ran into the playground. My favourite thing there was the tramps (Trampolines). I really enjoyed the trip. I was very sad when we had to go back to school.  Here are some photos we took while in the town. Here they are:

And No this is not an ad for biteable.  How I made it is with screencastify. (Sorry the loading for the biteable took a bit of time in the screencasify). WE FINISHED HOLES!

Hi Bloggers, It´s me Lucy. Yesterday we finished our book Holes. We also had been answering questions about holes, doing activities, and vocabs. Today we are planning on watching holes. Run the Rase!

Hey bloggers, A few days ago was the last day of the marathon. At break time some people helped to set up the finishing line. We also played music. The people who did not do the marathon (Like me) would sit on the benches and cheer for their friends and family. I cheered for my little sister. Some of the marathon runners got a metal or a certificate. My sister got a metal. By the time everyone had done running they had officaly ran 42k. Which is amazing. What will darth vador do on his day off?

Hi bloggers, On 3rd September (2019) We write the diary of Darth Vader but about his Day Off. We had 20 minutes to write it. I got 300 words. Surpringly I finished the whole thing in 11 minutes
Here is it:

My Diary. Darth Vader. Tuesday 3rd September 2019

I am Darth vaidir and today I get a day off.  Maybe a day at the spa. Maybe try some new costumes out. Or even make Slime. First lets go to the spa. Bubbles rising from the surface of the hot water. I jump in and relax. After ten minutes, I hop out of the bath and dry off. Then I ask my minions to fetch me some new costumes. The first one I tried on was a white suit with a mask that had the tiger colours on it. Then I tried on this crazy pink and yellow and purple one. It was scratching my skin and had tons of sprinkles on it. As soon as I looked in the mirror I  said “Yuck”. I straight away took it off. Then tried on the last costume. It had a black chest plate and white leggings with a black helmet. I liked it. It was more comfortable than any costume he had ever tried on. I am gonna wear this for the rest of the day. Now for the slime. I made a clear blue slime that stuck to my fingers. Then I added a bottle of white glue and grey food coloring and then the fluffy ingredients shaving foam. When I took It out I was so fluffy and creamy. I put both slimes in plastic containers. Then I saw a dog. “A Dog” I said, I was so surprised but also happy. “I will name you Darkside. I played with Darkside and pet him. I walked him around my home with a bright smile on me and her face. She was a golden retriever. Also she was a puppy. “I love my new puppy” I said happily,. This was my happy day.

New Zealend Math Week Project

Hi, Yesterday\Today we started a project for NZ math week. We got 9 options to choose from. Me, Renae, Mykiala choose The Bridge which we had to make.There was rules for every project. Our project (Bridge) had to only have 100 Popsicle sticks,  5 metres of tape, and 2 metres of string.We choose to show you the process of us making it. I got the 100 HERO award today.

Hey Everyone, Today at the end of today (that sounds weird) The Year 8s\House leaders told us how many HERO cards we had got. First was Hillery then Eager the Rutherford (Aka My House) then Ormsby (Bad Spelling). While the last certificates were being said I was imagining if I got the 100 hero cards award my freind Renae (Link to her Blog) Just got it in that second. She was so happy! Then they called my name and I thought I was getting 20 HERO cards but then I found out I had got THE 100 HERO CARDS. The certificates for the 100 had a small badge attached to it. It said YMS HERO 100.                                  Sorry the photos would not work so I made it on a drawing.

Rimu's trip to Town

Hi fellow bloggers, Yesterday we got on a bus to go see the historical sights of Christchurch.

The first thing we did was explore Christchurch's new library. This trip was an expertion you should have. It was so FUN🙂😻

I did a Long Write about it here it is.

I am sitting on the bus to see the historical sights of christchurch. I am sitting next to my best friend Olivia. Me and Olivia started playing paper, scissors, rock, most times Olivia won. At that moment Olivia told me that it would be a half an hour bus ride. Then I heard the bus coming to a stop a the new, big, pretty, Library It is 6 story. The first story was graphic novels. We checked out there new touch screen TV. It was so cool. There was all historical things that brought christchurch together. You would tap on something and it would give you a ton of facts about the thing you clicked on. On each floor there was a color and a bird you would have to guess what bird it was. Then we got to check out the staff areas witch I have to say was pretty awesome we saw how they put each book into a section. Then we came back out and went up to story two there was non fiction books there we all tried to guess what kind of bird it was. Then we walked up to story 3 and read a little of the fiction books.Then we were up to story 4 were it was a kids section 4 to 12. We were leaving the library but coming back later for imantion station. We walked around for a little, looking at architecture  and taking photos. Then we saw the bridge of remembrance for the people who died in the wars. Then we came back for imantion station. It was very fun. We had to make a safe, happy, fun city in groups of 6. We each had jobs like the mayor or town banker or town crier. I was Town Crier so I would show other people around the city that me and my group made. Than we walked a long way to eat lunch and have a play at margaret mahy park. We all tried to get on this spinning thing and go round and round. Finally we all got of that and went back to find are bus. Me and Olivia sat on the same seat we did before. We were back on the bus for another 30 min bus ride back to school. We were all happy and tired from a long fun day. I can sum up christchurch in one word Amazing, truly Amazing.

Year 5\6 are Detective's

 Hi fellow bloggers, A few days ago we had to solve a mystery. Here is the mystery.This is the information we were given as a class. Residence for Life, Ltd., a large mortgage company, suspects one of its loan officers is preparing fraudulent loan applications and pocketing the money. They are not sure which officer is involved. They believe they have narrowed it down to three individuals: Cameron Robinson, Luis Rothstein, and Amanda Remillard. However, the culprit learned of the company’s suspicions and shredded the evidence! Your lab has been asked to assist in reconstructing the evidence and determine which of the three suspects is guilty of the fraud.

We got into groups of 4 or 5. I was in a group of five with Renae, Conner, Corbin, Sebastian, and Me. We got a small bag of the shreded up documents, we had to put them togther like a puzzle. Then we looked at each others documents and we saw that in Amanda's documents that there was the same people so then we found out that it was....

Innovation (Home Learning)

If you could invent a new subject that would be taught to all children's in school what would the subject be? Baking. Why do you think children need to learn about your subject? So we can make food for us.

My Subject is... Baking

Because It is important to learn it so when we are adults so we can make food for are self.

Hi Fellow Bloggers.  We got 45 min to write a fantastic story. We saw a video called The Dream Giver. We got to write about what we would like the dream giver to give you for your dream. I chose to write about pixies. I like writing about my dreams or thoughts. This creature looks friendly until he shows what he is made of.   Does this look like a kind helpful friend or a creepy mean monster?

Getting into bed all under the warm covers, I slowly drift of to sleep. I hear the window open but don't take much notice of it. But then I felt golden dust touching my skin and then I could not get up or open my eyes or talk.The dream giver must have noticed the I love outdoors and pixies because I had the best best dream about it. I am a pixie called Gigi. I have wings that look like a monarch butterfly. I live in a town in pixievill called Lost Pixies It was 6 in the morning. I live in a mushroom it is two story with 2 bedrooms 1 bathroom and a lounge and kitchen connected to together. My Garden is filled with light pink blossoms from the tree. People said that I was very lucky to have this tree its very uncommon I smell the neighbours sweet perform from there window sill. I touched the soft petals rubbing against my finger it felt cold but I liked it. I could taste chocolate cake from the small dairy down the road. I saw my friends Sally and Dixci.I am 10 and so are they. I heard my late alarm go off. It is time for school. I rushed into my closet and picked an outfit and then put it on. I put a hairbrush and hair tye in my bag. Brushing my teeth as fast as the speed of light I noticed they weren't walking to school it is Saturday. I started laughing at myself. Well I am ready to go out. Sally knocked on my door. I opened it and she strat away said your dress is more pretty than the bright, shiney, yellow sun. Thank you I said in a happy voice. Then she said Happy Birthday in excitement. Is it really or is this a prank. It's not she said to me. Yeah! I said in the loudest voice I had. Lets Party. I have a disco ball to put up. We played the music so loud that the old lady down the street jumped out of here chair.

I would take a first aid kit, a blanket, and food. Why I chose those things from my house? First aid kit so if I got hurt I could put on a band aid. I think my mum would take food, her phone, water.
