Kapa Haka!

Hey Bloggers, How are you today?

Today I am talking about Kapa haka. Our kapa haka teacher is called Matua Anton. He is very good at teaching kapa haka. We are performing 3 songs (I think) and they all have actions and we also have to sing. I'm okay at the actions but I prefer the singing. Do you do kapa haka at your school?

The songs we sing are:

He Honore (Link to song here)

Tutira Mai (Link to song here)

Tēnei te ruru (Link to song here)

Do you prefer the singing or the actions in kapa haka?

PALs!

 Hey Bloggers,

GIF

Today I am doing a blog about being a PAL. Also today I got to teach and play a game with lots of kids. Me, Hana, and Ethan taught kids (In all ages) how to play sardines. Well most kids already knew how to play but it was still fun. I think there was most of the school there. I explained some of the instructions. I think everyone had a good time. They were all really enthusiastic about playing which was great. I made mistakes but I had fun. Mrs Rennell took some photos.

So here they are:

I had a great time and all the kids were very well-behaved which was awesome.

I hope you liked this blog!

Clued Up Kids ( + Exploring Christchurch City)

Hello Bloggers, How are you?

Today well yesterday I went on a cool trip. It was for the PALs so only 9 kids came (By the way that is not all the year six's and none of the year 7\8's) I was one of those kids who got to come. Clued up kids taught me lot's of things about safety. There were Police, Firefighters, and Paramedics. I learned laws about bikes and good safety rules. I learned how to stop a severe bleed. Also we learn't how to do CPR.  We also got ICE CREAM!

I'll show you some photos:

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Here is my DLO:

How to make delicious scrambled eggs! (Home Learning)

 Hello Fellow Bloggers,

It is me Lucy and today I'll be making scrambled eggs (On toast) for my little sister. This is for our new home learning programme and it sort of evolves around real life inquiry. So these are skills we should know for when we are adults. So I am going to do it step by step, so let's get started.

You may be wondering where is the steps, but they are in my DLO. So here it is:

I made this with Piktochart.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post :D

How to make a phone call (Home Learning)

Hello Bloggers, Today we were showed our new home learning plan, It is themed around real life inquiry, so like how to wash dishes and stuff like that. So I am going to do a step-by-step list on how to make a good phone call.

First thing and most important: Type in the number and press the green button with a white phone on it

(By the way I called Macca's, I actually write a script, Thats how nervous I was)

Secound Step: Wait for them to answer

Third Step: Talk to them in a friendly and kind way and don't be silly (Unless a prank call :)

Fourth step: Say bye then hang up by pressing the red button

And that's it.

I was so nervous and excitied when I called because I am usally not allowed to call restrants only my friends so this was diffrent and fun.

This is my script by the way:

Hello

Do you have the benedict bagal and pancakes?

Ok, Thank you

Byeee.

It was so short.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post.

Bye!

Arthurs Pass

Hello Bloggers, How are you?

A couple of weeks ago Miss Rennell said she would look into going to a camp. 3 days later she informed us that we were going to Arthurs Pass! As soon as I got home I searched it up sence I didn´t know what arthurs pass was. I went on their website and my mouth dropped. I thought it was AWESOME.

A week later each Rimu kid was given a notice about Arthurs Pass and I was squealing in excitement. I read the notice over and over again. Then we got a camp gear-list that had everything we needed for the three days.

Here are some photos: (By the way we haven´t went on the trip yet these are just photos of the internet)

Student Summit 2020 Reflection

Hi Everyone, Today we did student summit but because of Covid-19 we had to do it on google meet. I was so nervous and a tiny bit excitied. But when I got onto the meet I froze and I didn't know to say, But my amazing teacher Miss Rennell and my best friend helped me and I think it went pretty well.

If I could go back and change one thing what would it be: I would change the volume I spoke, Because I was a little to fast and quiet because I was nervous.

What was my favourite thing about presenting in the student summit:  I liked talking to them and helping them when they got stuck.

What was my least favourite part of presenting: Was before I did it because I was so so anxious and I thought I would do really bad.

I hope you enjoyed my blog post today!

I have a dream...

Hello Bloggers, How are you?We are about to start our learning on speeches in Rimu. When I heard this I felt very anxious and nervous, I get really scared about public specking. I tried to brainstorm some ideas on what to do it about but I didn´t get many ideas.

Before we got deep into the learning and creating, we had a task to train our brain. We did this to make a good mindset. We used the 6 tools in the mental toughness workbook to make a drawing of ourselves. We used google drawings and my DLO is below- a visualisation of me during our speech learning. My dream for how it will go is that I won´t get scared or anxious and it will be intresting and cool.  ( Sources are Google )

Reflection: While I was creating the drawing I thought about my speech and what it would be about.  The hardest part of the speech for me is mostly presenting because I am anxious about it that I will forget my speech or the audinence won´t like it. The easiest part will for me will be writing it.

At your school are you doing speeches?

How did you feel when being told about speeches?

If you are writing a comment on this blog, you could choose to use these sentance starters -

POSITIVE - I enjoyed the part when...

THOUGHTFUL - Did you think about...

HELPFUL - How come...

Blog Commenting

Hey Bloggers, Welcome back to my blog. How are you?
What I know about Blog Commenting:
I know that the comment has to be postive and kind. I know it has to be thoughtful what they did will and make a connection. I know it has to be helpful and give some improvements. I know that you should NEVER share personal infomation on a comment for example a phone number or email. I know that it has to be atleast 20 words long. I know it has to have good feedback. I know that you should put a question and answer a question if they had one in there blog.

This is the comment I write on my best friend Mykiala´s blog

Here it is:

Hi Mykiala its me Lucy your BFF. I really like this blog post. The story is very detailed but it has a couple of mistakes like when you said the found the right size instead of they. But thats okay! I love the DLO you did the slides backgrounds are AMAZING! I once ride a horse at a girls party a couple of years ago I loved it but I was really scared at first.
Overall you did an AWESOME job.
Kind Regards
From Lucy :)

This is the comment I write on Paige R´s Blog in Te Mahuri.

Here it is:

Hi Paige, It´s me Lucy from YMS in Rimu. I really enjoyed your blog, I like how you made a reflection about it. I think you added a good amount of detail. To improve I would re-read the whole blog (including the DLO) just to check for mistakes, Because some have spelling mistakes like the one on slide 6 with Bidiy. I have done something similar to this but I can´t rememeber what it was about ._.
Overall Awesome Job!
Kind Regards
From Lucy :)

Hello Fellow Bloggers, Did you know Rimu is having a writing competition? Yes We Are. We had 30 minutes to write a poem, mystery or a newsreport. I had a awesome mystery but I had to start again because it was 400+ words when it had to be under 150 words.

Check out what we have been doing in CYBERSMART!

Hello Bloggers, It's me Lucy. Welcome to my blog :)

A couple of days ago we sorted comments. So we gave them a thumbs up if they were good and thumbs down if they were bad.

We had a special shortcut it was DRUMROLL PLEASE...
!
Ctrl\Command + Alt + M. Do this shortcut on a slide, doc or google drawing.
Guess what it does?

The worst comment to me was probaly this one.  It shares so much personal info and is dangerous.

Dear 2KJ

I like your blog. I live in Leopold on Ash Road. My phone number is 52501111
From Billy King

The best comment was defnitly this one. It could be a little longer though.

Dear Mrs Morris,

I am really enjoying blogging with our students this year. What are your favourite things about having a class blog?
From Miss Jordan

Have you ever came across a really bad or really good comment?

James Clear Infomation

Hey Bloggers, It's me Lucy here. Today I am going to be posting about James Clear.

James Clear is a author but not any ordianary author. He researches about habits and how to stick to them, then he puts all of that infomation into a easy-to-read article.

James Clears central question is 'How Can We Live Better?'.

decided to use biteable because I haven't used it in so long and also just for a change.

James Clear Info 2020 on Biteable.

I have learnt that if you start small it is easy to get better.

Have you ever tried something similar?

School Is So Different!

Hello, How are you?

Hi, Its me Lucy.  It has been 7 weeks since I have been at school. I have missed school and my friends, but I enjoyed the Online School and Google MEETS.  I also liked spending more time with my family. But now that we are back to school in level 2,  School is very different! When we go in we do contactless sign in on a google doc.

How is school or high school for you?

We always have to maintain social distancing. We now have one exit and entry door. Also wash our hands before morning tea and lunch and sanitize when coming in and out.

Now each one of us has our own desk instead of sharing a table with loads of others. 👭👬

Beatrice And The Blue Door

Hello Bloggers, How are you?

Two days ago I write a narrative. It is called Beatrice And The Blue Door. It about a girl called Beatrice and her mother Kate. It is not completed but if you like it I'll do a chapter 2.
This narrative took me around 40 minutes to write and about 5 or 10 minutes to plan.
Here is my narrative, I hope you enjoy reading it :)

Once upon a time, a young girl named Beatrice lived in a forest with her mother Kate. Beatrice’s father once went hunting when Beatrice was 5 for dinner, No one knows what happened to him. But she had one thing to remember him with. A necklace, made with silver and a pearl at the front. She was told to never take it off by her father. One day she heard a roar. It was a bear. This happens every few months. A bear comes. It is a brown bear. At least it is not a black bear because they wanna fight. So we get under our beds. Shut the windows and the curtains and lock the doors tight. Kate always tells Beatrice to stay calm if something like this happens. So she reads a book.As soon as she opens it, a small piece of paper drops out. It says ‘’ Blue Door’’. She puts the piece of paper in her pocket and doesn’t think much of it.  She holds her necklace tight a she keeps her eyes closed.

Suddenly she has millions of gold glowing doors. All of the handels have a different colour. She sees a blue knob. Her fathers voice keeps ringing in her head. She looks at the paper. On the back it said ‘’From Dad’’. She ran to the door and opened it quickly. In their was, her memories on a screen with her dad. After the film finished she looked behind the tv to see her dad tied up with ropes. ‘’Oh my god’ She undid the knots and the tape other his mouth and saw that her necklace was gone. That wasn’t her father that was a trap....
